Our Story
how it all began
The Early Days
Jared and Mackensie met the modern way
—on Hinge— while both were living in
San Diego. Their first date was January 11, 2024 at Wonderland Pub
in Ocean Beach.
There they were: ocean views, first-date nerves, and the
~slim~ possibility this might be the
start of their forever.
The evening became especially memorable when, as they arrived,
Jared noticed his friend Ty sitting at the very same bar. Jared
had skipped their weekly trivia night for the date, and Ty had no
intention of letting that go unnoticed.
Halfway through the date, Ty got even by ICE'ing Jared. Jared
obliged, and Mackensie still says it was the true test of
character—and Jared passed.
Some of Our Adventures
After that, they were pretty much inseparable. Their early days
together quickly settled into a rhythm: bingo nights at Harry's
Taco Club, Batman marathons at Jared's downtown apartment,
afternoons wandering the San Diego Zoo, and competitive game
nights at Mackensie's place (shoutout to Salad Bowl).
What Jared didn't realize at the time was that dating Mackensie
also meant signing up for a lifelong travel partner. Since that
first date, the two of them have taken
twenty-five trips together,
exploring cities across the country.
Their biggest adventure, though, was packing up the life they had
built in San Diego and moving across the country together to begin
a new chapter in
the Big Apple.
The Proposal
New York was always meant to be a one year extended vacation—so
Jared and Mackensie got to work. They dined their way around the
city, spent afternoons in Central Park, and hosted every friend
and family member willing to make the trip to the concrete jungle.
Six months in, Jared just knew. He and Mackensie thrived in the
move across the country, turned a tiny New York apartment into a
(temporary) home, and now it was time
to transition Mackensie from girlfriend to wife.
So early in the morning on September 27, 2025, Jared brought
Mackensie to Central Park one more time. This time, with the
Manhattan skyline behind them, Jared got down on one knee.
And Now
And now, they can't wait to celebrate their marriage in San Diego
with all of their favorite people on
December 11th, 2026
